Captain Dana Bonney started salmon fishing in Grand Haven with his father Dana and brother Rob in 1984 when they started Danel Sportfishing. Their legacy and fishing expertise has grown along with the fishery in Grand Haven. Tragically Captain Dana passed in 2022 but not before he was able to touch many lives and share his passion for fishing. Dana loved to share is knowledge especially with children and was responsible for teaching many past and current captains and mates how to catch fish and entertain customers. Dana truly was a legend and bigger than life! His legacy will live on at Chinook Pier and beyond for lifetimes to come. We miss you Cap!
